Fur Magic: The Magic Sequence

Cory Alder departs from his home in Florida to live with his adopted Native American uncle, Jasper, in Idaho, when his father is called to active duty in the Vietnam War. Jasper's ranch is unfamiliar territory to Cory, who is apprehensive about the predators lurking in the area, such as cougars, bears, and wolves. Additionally, Cory is uneasy about the towering mountains and doesn't believe he will ever be capable of taming a wild horse.

However, everything changes when Cory encounters Black Elk, an elderly Nez Perce Medicine Man. Through this meeting, Cory is transported to an alternative reality where animals form tribes, engage in hunting, and embark on warfare. In this realm, Cory is transformed into a beaver known as Yellow Shell, and he acquires the ability to communicate in their language. He soon discovers that all inhabitants live in fear of the infamous Changer, who is devising a scheme to alter the beings in both the human and animal domains for his own malicious purposes.

As two worlds hang in the balance, Cory must rely on his bravery and instincts to vanquish this shrewd adversary and regain his human form. The question remains: does Cory possess the strength to confront the Changer and conquer his own trepidation of the unfamiliar?
